Slacker’s Bar and Grill in New Holland, a popular destination for area residents looking for good food or a place to celebrate with friends, reopens their kitchen tonight, March 18, under new management. The facility has been operating without restaurant services while the owners made preparations.
Brad Ferguson, a Lincoln resident with restaurant experience, and his fiancé, Annie Sanders, an experienced bartender/waitress, are the new owners of Slackers.
“I’ve worked in this business for a long time – cooking, bartending, and in management,” Ferguson says. “The last several years I’ve been working for a water company, but I always meant to get back to restaurant work, so I’m excited about the opportunity. This is a great location.”
Ferguson and Sanders have added draft beer to the drink menu, and will be bringing in poker machines soon, to join the pool table, juke box and dart board. Live entertainment is planned, including performers and karaoke. “We’ve got Hipbone Sam coming March 29th to entertain us with the Blues,” Ferguson says. “When the weather allows, we’ll open the beer garden.”
On the restaurant side of the business, choices will be expanded.
The menu will be consistent and similar to what customers are used to. “We’ll also feature daily specials. Once a week we’ll have all you can eat Walleye. There will be a spaghetti night, and specials on appetizers and lunches. The pizza was really popular in the past, so we have brought that back.”
Brad and Annie want everyone who enjoyed eating at Slackers in the past to come back. “And if you haven’t had the Slackers experience, we want the chance to sell you on it,” Brad says. “We enjoy people. We’d love to have you come on by.”
Slackers is located on Lincoln Street in New Holland and is open daily from 11:00 a.m. until every customer is satisfied in the evening. The kitchen closes at 9:00 p.m.
