The Convoy for Kids delivered another great show Saturday, June 20th, for its 8th annual show.
The show, which raises money for St. Jude’s, had 49 trucks in attendance as well as antique tractors, antique cars & trucks and even a couple race cars on display. The weather was perfect and spectators as well as truckers enjoyed the great food and activities throughout the day.
“It wasn’t the most trucks we have had,” said Russ Harris, “but this number of trucks surrounds the park and looks great!”
The show organized by brothers Russ and Jim Harris want to thank everyone for their support of the show and the great volunteers that come back every year. Plans are already underway for next year’s show, traditionally held on Father’s Day weekend.
This year’s donations to the Convoy will make over $60,000 in total donations over 8 years to St. Jude’s. “We would love to be at $100,000 for our 10th show. It’s a big goal, but one that’s worth working for and we intend on working for that,” said Jim.
The show ended with a free community dinner to all provided by local trucking company’s Mason County Transfer and Hull Trucking of Mason City.
