The Mason City Historical Society is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1998 with the main concern of preserving Mason City’s history. As more people became interested in researching their family history, the focus widened to include genealogy research and information, and the name was changed to Mason City, Illinois Area and Family History Society, NFP. We are dedicated to preserving Mason City, Illinois area artifacts and family history data, sharing the artifacts and information with the public through displays, published items, and various public events, and providing a place for the public to research area and family history.

Rotary’s motto is “Service Above Self,” meaning we are a service club.  We are very involved in our community and actively involved with our schools, sending two students to RYLA Camp, giving two scholarships to graduating seniors, sponsoring the senior boys’ luncheon, selling Cubs/Cards baseball tickets to help attain a literacy grant each year for the school, a supporter of Boy Scouts, helping with local blood banks, food pantry, etc.  Rotary International is “This close to eradicating polio worldwide.”  Yes, we can and do make a difference locally and in the world!  Come join us on a Tuesday for lunch (on us)!  See how you, too, can become a part of this great organization.
